I'm walking to honor both sides of my family, who have battled heart disease for generations. I'm also walking for myself. I live with heart valve disease, and it's a journey that has included two valve replacements - my mitral valve in March 2016, and my aortic valve in March 2023. I'm here today because of the education, research, support, and lifesaving treatment made possible by the American Heart Association.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don't survive. Most of the time, it's because no one nearby knew CPR. But together, we can change that.
