Our lives changed in a way we never could have imagined when my husband’s battle with heart disease became more serious. What started as a health journey quickly became hospital stays, difficult conversations with doctors, uncertainty, and days when our only focus was getting through the next hour.

Heart disease has affected so much more than his heart. It has changed our everyday lives as a family. We have watched someone who is normally strong and independent face circumstances completely outside of his control. There have been procedures, medications, setbacks, long days and nights in the hospital, and moments when we have had to make difficult decisions while holding on to our faith and hope.

Through everything, my husband has continued to fight. Even during the hardest moments, his strength has reminded us why we keep pushing forward. This journey has also shown us just how quickly life can change and how important it is to have people surrounding you with love, prayer, encouragement, and support.

As his wife, there are really no words to describe what it feels like to watch the person you love fight heart disease. You want to fix it. You want to take the pain and uncertainty away. But when you can’t, you learn to simply be there, to advocate, ask questions, hold his hand, pray, and remind him that he is not fighting alone.

We are still on this journey, taking things one day at a time and believing for better days ahead. We created this page to share his story, keep our family and friends updated, and allow those who love him to walk alongside us during this season.
