I got my first pacemaker at 7 years old.
Last year, I got my 5th pacemaker.
I am immeasurably grateful for this device that lets me live a full life. Including going on regular runs (when I wake up early enough), mostly keeping up with two teenagers and doing meaningful work.
I am also grateful for the American Heart Association which helped invent the first pacemaker, supports continued advances, and is breaking down barriers to health equity.
