The American Heart Association is deeply personal to me. My husband, Mark Partida, suffers from heart disease and underwent a triple bypass in 2022 and continues to deal with all the affects of continous medication as well as the disease in itself. Walking beside him through that journey-as his caretaker-was one of the most emotional and challenging times of my life. It showed me just how important prevention, support, and lifesaving action truly are.
