A few months ago, my biological Mom, Rita, suffered a heart attack followed by several defibrillator episodes caused by congestive heart failure. It was a frightening reminder of how quickly life can change and how much every second matters during a cardiac emergency.
The reality is 9 out of 10 people who experience cardiac arrest outside of a hospital do not survive. In many cases, it's because lifesaving CPR wasn't started before emergency responders arrived.
What I've learned through this experience is that ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference. A simple skill. A willingness to act. A few critical minutes that could save someone's parent, spouse, child, or friend.
That's why I'm supporting the Heart Walk. Every walker who participates and every dollar donated helps fund lifesaving research, expands CPR training, and gives more families hope during their most difficult moments.
I never imagined how personal this cause would become for me, but today I know firsthand that every heartbeat matters.
Please consider joining me or making a donation to help me reach my goal. Together, we can create more survivors, more second chances, and more moments with the people we love. Help me reach my goal today! â¤ï¸
