So many “firsts” since Mom died in March and this year’s Heart Walk will be the first time I raise money in her memory rather than in her honor. I’m convinced the American Heart Association’s research saved and extended my mother’s life long after her massive heart attack in 1994. My gratitude for having so many extra years, memories, and laughs with her has always fueled my Heart Walk enthusiasm - this year more than ever. We miss her terribly, but also know we were blessed to have her as long as we did.
