In December 2017, we celebrated the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Emory. But when Emory was one week old, I knew there was something wrong.
We had no idea we would spend Christmas and New Years at the hospital with little Emory.
Emory was fighting for her life and time was running out. Finally, an x-ray showed that Emory had a constricted aorta and needed immediate surgery to allow blood to flow throughout her body.
Emory was transported to the Texas Medical Center on Christmas morning. On December 26, doctors successfully repaired Emory’s aorta along with a hole in her heart.
We are incredibly thankful for the hospital staff, Emory’s cardiologist and the life-saving work of the American Heart Association (AHA.)
When you give to the AHA, you help fund lifesaving research and medical advancements that make surgeries like Emory’s possible. Thank you in advance for your support!
