My reason for supporting the American Heart Association is my Dad. I had the opportunity to share my Dad’s experience as he underwent a procedure recently. I was grateful to have the opportunity, but I also was in awe of the bravery he showed and the caring of his medical team. From an early morning start to a late evening visit in recovery, I witnessed many of the ways the AHA leads in heart health in the medical system and in our communities. The AHA is the advocate for cutting edge research, innovative programs to address the cycle of healthy of living, and engages with local, state and Federal legislators to advance the priorities of the agency and those it serves. And while my Dad is my reason, I also support the AHA for both of my parents. As part of a COVID-19 at-risk community, the work the AHA is doing today helps keep them safe and informed, as well as others much more at risk and much more in need of the support of the AHA. For my Mom and Dad, I support the AHA.
