Every year I join KPMG and other companies in supporting the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heart Walk. This year’s Houston Heart Walk will be on November 11th, and I have set a personal goal to raise funds that are needed for both heart disease and stroke research and education.
In 2011, I suffered a massive stroke. I spent a few days in ICU before having brain surgery to repair the damage. Thanks to prayers, my family, and some amazing doctors, I was blessed with a full recovery after only a few months. Many people are not as lucky and suffer permanent damage or death. This experience has made me appreciate the efforts of organizations like the AHA and I have committed to supporting the HeartWalk on an annual basis. Please join me in raising money to support the AHA and funding the fight against heart disease and stroke.
