I'm walking for many reasons. My mother, Karen Waggoner, worked for the American Heart Association with passion for 25 years and in many ways, I've grown up with this organization. I'm proud to be following in her footsteps, having just completed 18 years with the American Heart Association. I'm also walking with my children to set an example and lead them on the path toward a healthy and active lifestyle. I also lost my uncle, Phil Price, to heart disease 25 years ago. He had his heart attack when I was in elementary school and Phil was on a donor list for many, many years afterward. Sadly, he succumbed to the disease before seeing his sons become the wonderful fathers they are today.
More Americans are killed by cardiovascular disease than anything else whether it's due to a congenital defect or it's a result of our diets and environment. The money that you donate, goes toward developing lifesaving research to sustain life for those that suffer from heart disease or have survived a stroke. Your money goes toward heart-health education that prevents heart disease and stroke. Ultimately, your money goes toward fighting the number one cause of death in our communities.
Please join me in supporting the American Heart Association to build a healthy future, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke!
Help me reach my lifesaving goal by donating today. Together, we can make healthier, longer lives possible for everyone.
Thank you in advance for your generous support!
