In 2010 my father experienced his first heart attack. Since that time, he's battled with blockages, congestive heart failure, and many other issues that continue to impact his overall health and quality of life. I'm grateful for the dedicated doctors and nurses who have cared for my dad, and I'm grateful for organizations like the American Heart Association, whose research and training programs are able to give healthcare professionals the knowlege and skills they need in order to care for millions of others throughout the nation who, like my dad, are battling heart disease and stroke.
I've seen how heart disease and stroke can affect the lives of the people we love. I chose to walk for me and my family, and I chose to walk for those who cannot because of heart disease and stroke.
I believe that helping support the work of the American Heart Association, along with taking proactive steps toward our overall health, such as walking everyday, can lead to every American living a longer, healthier, happier life.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
