This will be my 2nd year walking as a SURVIVOR! I hope you will join me in this 5k walk on Saturday, 11/12.
I walk because every step I have taken since June 23, 2021 is a gift I will never take for granted. ALL GLORY TO MY LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST FOR THIS 2ND CHANCE IN LIFE AND THE ABILITY TO GIVE OTHER SURVIVORS HOPE THROUGH SHARING MY STORY!
In 2021 I suffered an ischemic stroke in my right MCA that affected 4 major branches in my brain. This unfortunate, life altering event affected and challenged me mentally and emotionally in many, many ways but the physical damage is most visible, paralyzing my entire left side. For the past year+ I've been learning how to walk and regain use of my left arm and hand again. My wonderful husband, Isaac and beautiful daughter, Kaylen cheer me on everyday. They never let me give up on myself. My journey has been difficult but everyday I put my trust in God's will, provision and purpose for me. Everyday I fight relentlessly to regain my function. Through this process I'm learning to love the new me. I refuse to give up or give in to what "statistics" say. WITH THE HELP OF GOD, I AM DETERMINED TO BEAT THE ODDS AND FIGHT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!
Despite what I've lost, I hold on knowing I still have my faith - even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
Matthew 17:20-21
Thank you for supporting my journey.
♥Steph
PS - Please listen to the lyrics of this beautiful song from Andra Day. The lyrics are beautiful and inspiring for anyone and any challenge you may be going through. "Let's walk it out...". God bless ♥
