This year I have been challenged with leading Parkridge Health System’s team for the AHA Heart Walk. I am working with the AHA Heart Walk Executive leadership team with commitment and energy to see us break records this year.
My why for leading the heart walk is that I lost my mother in October of 2022 to sudden cardiac arrest. She had been recently diagnosed with early stage congestive heart failure and was expected to live with the disease for another 15-20 years. My mother nor her family had a history of heart disease, so we were all unprepared for the journey that awaited us. Although the journey was cut short, my mother was given so many resources by the American Heart Association to help her and us prepare for life with CHF. For that, I am forever grateful.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
