I am walking in memory of my Daddy, James Lee, who passed away at 82 years young.
The picture above is the last one I will ever take with my Daddy. It was taken at our small get-together Christmas 2020 during Covid.
Very early in the morning of January 30, 2021 my Daddy was having nausea, an upset stomach and was very weak so my Mom took him to Baylor Scott & White in Sunnyvale. After initial tests were done they waited out in the waiting room for the results expecting it to be a bad stomach virus.
The ER Doctor came out and asked Daddy how he felt and he said weak from being sick in his jokingly way. The doctor said Mr. Lee the markers in your blood work indicates that you have had a heart attack and we will need to do further tests to find out what is going on. My Daddy and Mom were shocked as he had none of the normal symptoms that you would expect. He was laughing and joking with the nurses one minute and the next in a hospital bed hooked up to monitors. Daddy was negative for Covid and had no history of heart problems.
My Mom was able to have Daddy transferred to Baylor Plano Heart Hospital by that evening and no one else was able to be there.
On January 31, the next morning, Daddy had an episode and was moved to an ICU room. From that time on my Daddy fought a good fight for 5 more days while being sedated, vented and having several medical procedures done to give his heart and kidneys a chance to heal and function. But in the end he was being called elsewhere and nothing was going to change that. He had finished his course, he had kept his faith.
On February 4, 2021 my Daddy went home to our Heavenly Father with his wife, two daughters and two sons blessed to be at his side. It wasn’t a goodbye it was a see you later!
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
