I am also challenging other Native American owned business and organizations to register your company. It's time that we increase heart disease awareness and education in our Native American communities. As a survivor of The Widowmaker heart attack and a board member for the AHANM, I am determined to make sure our Native people are included in this important health conversation and space.
I have participated in the Federal Fly-In for the National American Heart Association and represented the state of New Mexico as the delegation advocated for two bills to place AED's in schools. I was able to share my story of living with SVT-WPW since I was a child and then surviving The Widowmaker as an adult. It was an honor to represent my state and Indian Country. The bill passed!
