I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
Heart disease runs through my Dad's side of the family along with my husband's father's side. Little did I know it would affect me. After a brain procedure, a piece of plaque broke off and caused a stroke affecting my right side. I had to learn how to use my leg again, and have underwent almost a year of speech, physical, and occupational therapy. With sensation deficits and very limited hand use I am proud to be a #strokesurvivor.
