I lost my dad in December 1984 to a sudden heart attack and I was 14. It was a devastating and unexpected blow that has left a void in my life that can never be truly filled. He wasn't just a father to me, he was my cheerleader when I played volleyball, basketball, and tennis, and even when we went horseback riding in the country. His loss has deepened my understanding of how crucial heart health is and has inspired me to take action.
Heart disease runs in my family and it's a silent and relentless thief, and it took my dad from me way too soon. I'm walking in the Heart Walk not only to honor his memory but to help raise awareness and funds for heart disease research and prevention.
Your support means the world to me. Every donation helps fund critical research and programs that are working to make heart disease a thing of the past. I want to see fewer families avoid going through this unexpected loss like my family did.
Thank you for joining me in this important cause. Your contribution and encouragement are a beacon of hope as we walk together toward a world with healthier hearts.
