In July 1994, I lost my dad unexpectedly. Following a massive heart attack and surgery, he died ... my world changed forever. As you can see from the photo - on of my favs - Dad loved life and made the most of it (although he only lived to 61) ... including singing in the rain while on a family vacation in London. Unfortunately, my cousin died from a heart attack at just 55 years old, too.
As a staff member, I've seen the American Heart Association completely reimagine its work to address the heart health impacts of social determinants of health, COVID-19, the obesity epidemic and more. I've been part of announcing ground breaking research and new medical treatment guidelines funded by the American Heart Association. I'm part of a project teaching people everywhere CPR turning a nation of bystanders into lifesavers in the wake of Damar Hamlin's sudden cardiac arrest on Monday Night Football.
And, I am participating in the American Heart Walk. I've set a lofty goal -$5K. Your donation will fund groundbreaking research, advocacy and public education that literally keeps hearts beating and helps all people have longer, healthier lives.
Please me reach my goal today! A donation in any amount is much appreciated.
