On January 24, 2025, our son Ilyas Atef Usman came into the world with a brave heart and a powerful story. Born with d-Transposition of the Great Arteries (d-TGA), Ilyas underwent open heart surgery at just 4 days old to have an Arterial switch. God blessed us by placing us in the hands of one of the best surgeons, Dr. Kristine Gulseerian, who proformed his life saving procedure. His strength, resilience, and the love that surrounds him have inspired us every single day since. 

This October, we’re walking in his honor—and we want you by our side.

Please join us on October 18, 2025, for the American Heart Association 2025 Heart Walk as part of Team “Ilyas’s Champions.” We walk not only for Ilyas, but for all the heart warriors and the families who stand with them.
