I walk because my mother is a surviror of heart disease. As I babysat my little brother, I received a phone call that my mom was being rushed into emergency surgery for a heart attack. I was terrified that I would never see her again.
With my mom being a nurse and walking herself into Urgent Care, my mom would have had died either on the way home or at home in front of us. I am incredibly grateful to have my mom by my side and the amazing people who took care of her during her time of need.
