I am participating in the America Heart Association Heart walk due to my Husband Eric at the time being only 42 years old. In 2015 he had to have open heart surgery due to finding out that he had a genetic malformation of his aortic valve. He had bicuspid valve diease with aorta dilation. Normal aortic valve has 3 cusps and his had two, a normal aorta is 3cm and his was at 5.6cm, ready to rupture. Thank GOD for the finding and Thank you to Dr. Conrad Vial from Mil's Penninsula Sutter Health for performing his life saving surgery. Eric is now 51 years old with a healthy heart. He continues to work and coach girls high school basketball.
