I walk for Donovan Walsh, my partner, who passed away on August 30th, 2020, at 36-years old, after suffering a widow maker cardiac event while we, Alex, Donovan, Heidi, Otto, Sierra and Sam, were biking Resurrection Pass out of Hope, Alaska. As a way to continue honoring Donovan's life and passing, my friends and I who were with Donovan when he passed away participate in the Alaska Heart Run and Walk to fundraise money to fund awareness efforts and groundbreaking research into heart disease and stroke. We walk for our family members, friends and loved ones who have been impacted by heart disease or stroke. DKW, PWH, SPH, EUB, HHA, AG, JWD, ZZ, JK, BJA, BG, HNS, CN, JT, DLP, DKR.
Obituary for Donovan Kelly Walsh (adn.com)
This will be our third year participating in the Alaska Heart Run & Walk in honor of Donovan. Last year we blew our fundraising goal out of the water thanks you all, in combination with many of your employer's generous donation matching programs. Please don't feel obligated to donate, but if you do, be sure to submit for matching to the American Heart Association (Dallas, TX) and include the note "Alaska Heart Run and Walk, Donovan's Hope team". As a way to honor other family members, loved ones and friends who have been impacted by heart disease or stroke, we are including their initials on our group page. If you would like for someone to be added, please let me know.
I walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke. Will you be a Heart Walk Hero with me?
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help me reach my goal today!
