Hello everyone. Thank You for allowing me to tell my story. I just turned 48 years old on October 14, 2022, and just had a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage on September 12, 2022 a month before. I had a headache worse than any in life. It was a pain so great throughout my neck and head that I knew right away this had to be something bad. My left ear felt like I was in an airplane and the pressure made me lose my hearing on the left side. I became extremely nauseous so I had someone drive me direct to ER where things got worse with vomiting. The pain was worse than anything I have ever felt. I felt like I was going to die. All I could think about were my two sons being left without a mom, especially as a single mother. I knew I had to beat this whatever it was. Upon arrival it felt like I waited about 30 min then got inside and instantly to a CT scan. I found out I had a “bleeding brain” and they rushed me to the ICU where I had MRI and angiogram. That’s when they told me what exactly I had. They said they would keep me for 14 to 17 days and were SHOCKED I had no disability other than a terrible headache which I STILL have today. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. I ended up getting moved to a normal floor from ICU on about day 6 and stayed another 4 days. They released me early because on my second MRI and Catscan they said they could no longer find the bleed and assumed it must be NON-Aneurysmal. So here I am. A professional trumpet player who has played 40 years now scared to death to blow a trumpet. Doctors cannot tell me yes or no it’s safe cause they simply don’t really know I think Can i fly ? Is it safe ? I mean I assume the obvious. No more rollercoaster or dangerous anything …sports (rough) hard working out. I assume straining the head pressure isn’t the best idea. BUT can i play trumpet ? Can I travel by plane ? Why did the pressure hurt me in my ear and head ? I don’t see anyone else with this symptom when having the stroke ? Will this happen to me again ? These are my fears and worries I know I lived for a reason I need to learn how to navigate this new lifestyle of mine and educate others the risks of overexerting yourself especially in the entertainment business I am the founder of the Two Time Grammy Award Winning Mariachi Divas now over two decades I worked so hard, but almost got my life taken away because I forgot to sleep and take better care of my health while working towards my dreams I hope I can inspire others to make healthy lifestyle changes to improve their quality of life and lessen the risks of stroke and heart attack Saving and improving lives can be as simple as taking a walk.
