I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you help me?
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
As a nurse, I've dedicated my career to caring for others, but this year, as I turned 40, I realized it was time to focus on my own health. I am determined to make a change, not just for myself but also to set an example for family and friends.
To mark this milestone, I decided to combine my personal health goals with my passion for helping others. I signed up to coach and organize our SEBMF ALBANY/RICHMOND team for a walkathon organized by the American Heart Association, aiming to raise funds for heart disease research while committing to a healthier lifestyle. Each step I take is a reminder of the importance of heart health and the impact of my efforts on both my life and the lives of those we care for.
Training for the walk is quickly becoming a routine part of my life, gradually improving my fitness and giving me a renewed sense of vitality. This journey has not only strengthened my resolve to maintain a healthier lifestyle but has also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to a cause that's close to my heart. As I push for the finish line, I know I will feel a profound sense of accomplishment, knowing that I will making a difference while embracing a healthier version of myself.
