I walk for my son and my father. Both heart warriors and survivors!
My son Brixton was born with a Congenital Heart Defect called Aortic Coarctation. He underwent open heart surgery at 9 days old. The incredible team of doctors, nurses and staff saved his life and supported us over the course of his month-long hospital stay at CHLA. 6 years later he continues to be our CHD warrior and survivor! Brixton amazes us with his energy, fearlessness, and passion for life. We know he will need additional procedures and lifelong monitoring with lifestyle modifications. But with research and the advances in technology supported by the American Heart Association we know he will continue to thrive!
My dad survived a heart attack this year and I am beyond grateful for UCI Health being able to transfer him to ensure he could receive the life saving surgery he needed. I am forever thankful to the entire team at CVICU and CVSU, including the doctors, nurses, therapist and friends. 4 months later he is back doing what he loves. Being the best dad and papa we ever could ask for!
We are all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. It's important we share their stories!
Join my team and let’s raise money for groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
Have a heart and help us reach our goal!
