For those of us on the front lines of care, the skill and knowledge of CPR not only hold immense value for the people we serve; but also, deeply impacts our own sense of purpose and well-being. It is a reminder that even in moments of chaos, we have the power to make a tangible difference in someone's life. We often witness both the fragility of life and the strength of human resilience. The act of saving a life can be a powerful motivator, offering a sense of accomplishment and emotional fulfillment that can last long after the event.
I have had the opportunity to dedicate the last 7 years of my life as a Volunteer Firefighter and 2.5 years in Clinical Operations for Internal/ Geriatrics Medicine at TVC. I wanted a career that would allow me to make an immediate, tangible impact on the lives of others. Being present to people in need , offering hope, and making a difference in my community is a gift. This role allows me to be the kind of person I’ve always aspired to be—someone who serves with heart, skill, and compassion.
I walk in memory of my best friend, my grandfather who suffered a massive stroke and heart attack.
I walk for those patients I've had the chance to save; and most importantly the ones who I was not able to save.
We may all face a time where we get the chance to be present when someone is born, or when someone has passed. In most every culture such moments are regarded as sacred and private made by a divine presence. No one on Earth would be welcomed; but you're personally invited. What an honor that is.
