Let's step out as a team against heart disease and stroke. The San Diego Heart Walk event draw thousands of walkers to Balboa Park. This year the walk is September 20th. Mark your calendar.
This event, a leisure 5K Walk and 1 Mile Red Cap Walk, combines the spirit of fun and physical fitness for all ages. Team The Cater To Your Heart would love to have you walk with us. Why not include family, friends, and your pup in this special cause. There will be plenty of food, music and fun.
Everyone knows someone affected by heart disease and stroke. Maybe it is a family member or maybe it’s you. Most of us walk because we somehow have been personally affected. My personal fight with heart disease occurred when I was an infant. For several years, breathing was difficult and exercise almost impossible. Today I enjoy dancing and all kinds of physical activities thanks to the great doctors, nurses and technicians who cared for me and saved my life.
Currently 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today by joining our team or donating towards our goal. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
