Did you know that 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital do not survive? In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But together, we can change this.
At Tri-City Medical Center, we?ve recently been honored by the American Heart Association for being the only hospital in San Diego awarded the Commitment to Quality. This recognition requires a Silver or higher in at least three distinct Get With The Guidelines® programs?such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack, cardiac arrest, Type?2 diabetes, or atrial fibrillation. Though we are committed to saving lives inside the hospital, survival often depends on what happens before patients ever arrive at our doors.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields, and in neighborhoods everywhere. The readiness of our community can truly be the difference between life and death.
That?s why we walk. To unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins us, and every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research, and more lifesaving moments for families right here in our community.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today by joining our team or donating toward our mission. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers ? and extend the lifesaving impact of Tri-City Medical Center beyond our walls.
