This is a cause near and dear to my heart, literally and figuratively. I survived cardiac arrest four times. I was diagnosed with end stage heart failure, had a left ventricular assist device, and finally a heart transplant in order to save my life. My gratitude toward my donor, care team, and the American Heart Association goes further than the steps I walk for this cause.
Doing this walk and fundraising is important to me because there will be more groundbreaking research in the future that could potentially save my life and many others. There is still so much more to learn about the human heart.
Your donation will fund research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
