This year, I am walking with a mission to educate and spot early signs of heart disease. I experienced a friend's passing due to a heart attack this year, and he was someone no one in a million years would have even guessed had a heart issue. That was a wake up call to me that even knowing the obvious signs aren't enough, and there is so much more we can do to learn the contributors to heart and whole-body health.
The Heart Association is front and center in this type of education, as well as supporting life-saving research, and providing programs that help people improve their health and ability to respond to emergencies when they arise.
