As many of you know over the past 24 years I've had the pleasure of working in pediatric and adult congenital cardiology, I've been fortunate to work alongside so many dedicated and inspiring individuals who have shaped my journey.
However, the number one reason for me embarking on this journey is my son, Austin who was diagnosed with a CHD at age one. He has shown amazing strength and perseverance through two surgeries over the course of his life.
I'm now have the honor of being part of the Mary Bridge Heart Center leadership team. For those who know me well, you understand that pediatric and adult congenital heart care is not just a profession-it's at the very core of who I am.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
