This year’s Heart Walk is deeply personal. In January, I lost my oldest bonus son to a massive heart attack—a devastating and unexpected loss that shook our family to the core.

But I also walk in celebration. My mom, Eva—my mamagirl and my superhero—is a survivor of open-heart surgery. Her strength, resilience, and love inspire me every day.

To honor both of them, I’ve registered for the American Heart Walk and committed to raising $250 to support the American Heart Association’s mission to save lives and keep hearts beating strong.
