I walk because I know that with every step, we are saving lives.
When I was 36 years old I found myself sitting in a Cardiologists office with my heart racing. I had been having issues for months. My family doctor had put me on a heart monitor and with in 9 days was in the o and wore a heart monitor for only five days, when my family doctor called me back into the office and got me into the Cardiologist with in 4 days. As a momma of two young girls, 3 and 6 yrs old, I was scared that I wasn't going to be able to see them grow up.
I am so thankful for the American Heart Association becuase they are truly working to educate us on strokes and heart disease. At one of their events I learned that signs of a heart attack looks drastically different in women then it does in men. Becuase of the of the research that has been done over the years, so many of our Lovied ones are still with us today.
Every donation will change a life by helping to fund groundbreaking research, education and much more.....your support today will literally help keep hearts like mine beating.
