My little sister, Jennifer, is one of my favorit people in the world. She's smart, funny and more athletic than almost anyone else I know. So when she had a heart attack at age 45, it was shocking and scary. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised. My dad and older brother both suffered from heart disease. I don't know why I thought it was something that happened to men and not so much to women. But heart disease is the leading cause of death for women, accounting for 1 in 3 deaths.
Heart disease affects our families, our friends, our colleagues and our communities.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated to the American Heart Association, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can make a difference.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
