My Grandpa's Story:
My Grandpa was always there for me. From picking me up every day after school, to getting ice cream together after soccer practice, I always cherished the time we spent together.
One day after school, I was waiting for him to pick me up as he always did. But as the minutes turned to an hour and he still hadn’t shown up, I started to worry. My grandpa was never late. I called my mom, and she rushed to pick me up and we immediately drove to his house. When we saw his car parked in the driveway, we knew something was wrong.
After knocking on every door and window for over ten minutes, we called the police. They knocked the door down, went inside and found my grandpa. He had passed away from a massive heart attack earlier that day.
I have been volunteering and donating to the AHA for the past nine years, because no one should have to lose a loved one so suddenly and unexpectedly. I want to help raise more money for vital research and awareness in support of my grandpa and my other family members facing issues from heart disease, the leading cause of death world-wide. AHA is such an amazing organization helping families just like mine. I appreciate all of your support and donations towards this event.
