In my family, we know exactly how much a few minutes can matter. At age 28, I suffered a sudden cardiac arrest caused by a genetic condition called Arrhythmogenic Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). This was the same condition that had claimed my brother’s life just a few years earlier.
The difference between us was simple and devastating: My brother did not receive CPR in a timely fashion; I did. I am here today because someone was ready to act, but many families aren't as fortunate. 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die, often because bystander CPR wasn't performed. We didn't even know the name of the condition that haunted our family until nearly two decades later. Now, I’m walking to ensure no one else has to wait for answers—or for a lifesaver.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, and in neighborhoods everywhere. The readiness of our community is the difference between life and death. It’s time to unite and take action.
Every dollar donated means:
-
More people trained in lifesaving CPR.
-
Advanced genetic research to identify risks earlier.
-
More lifesaving moments for families like mine.
Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers. I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
