You never know if you are going to experience a cardiac event or think that it would happen to you, until it does. Last August, I had my son and 2 weeks later we were back in the hospital because I had a heart attack. Everyone in the ER department, the team on the cardiac floor, my cardiologist, and the cardiac rehab team were all amazing. I cannot thank them enough! They were all so patient and accommodating to make our stay comfortable with our newborn. I am also so grateful to my wonderful husband and family for taking care of our other children while we were in the hospital. I was so nervous to get back "normal", to exercise, have any excess stress. But this is my new "normal" and surprisingly enough, I am grateful for the entire experience. All everyone kept saying is "you are so young and healthy, how could this happen?". It makes me more motivated to take care of myself, appreciate life, and to spread awareness that it can happen to anyone at any time.
