I’m joining the Heart & Stroke Walk in honor of my best friend’s birthday.

When we were in college, she suffered a stroke while driving home on the freeway. She was young, and at the time, no one knew what was happening until doctors discovered a hole in her heart.

Today, she’s healthy and serves her community as a provider. I’m incredibly proud of her strength, her resilience, and the life she’s built. This walk is for her and for everyone whose story starts before anyone expects it to.
