I was twelve years old when my dad experienced chest pain while on a trip to an international medical conference to deliver a lecture. Shortly after he had his first quadruple bypass. He was 45 years old. God bless 2 CABG's and goodness know how many stents later my dad is hanging in there at the age of 84yrs. Despite being retired he still goes to his pediatric clinic three half days a week to see patients. In the photo you see him and two of my brothers both of whom alongside myself have familial high cholesterol. Our father's story taught us the importance of screening for heart disease and high cholesterol.
