I'm thrilled walk for the American Heart Association.

I had a congenital heart condition known as AFib, but it couldn’t be easily diagnosed or fixed as I also showed signs of atrial flutter.  Atrial fibrillation (AFib) and atrial flutter are both arrhythmias affecting the heart's upper chambers, but AFib features chaotic, disorganized electrical signals, whereas atrial flutter involves an organized, rapid electrical circuit. Both conditions elevate the risk of stroke and heart failure and share symptoms like rapid heartbeats and shortness of breath. 

I chose to go on blood thinners to avoid the risk of stroke, along with antiarrhythmic medications.  In October of 2025 I had a heart monitor implanted to help diagnose what I was experiencing.  It wasn’t much longer that I had an episode which was recorded by the monitor and provided my doctor all the necessary details.  I’m thankful that in March of 2026 I had a successful cardiac ablation procedure to correct my AFib!  I’ve been off all medications with no recorded incidents since.
