My connection to heart health is deeply personal.
When I was a sixth-year medical student, my oldest brother suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest while dancing at my nephew’s birthday party. I started CPR immediately and continued until the ambulance arrived. Sadly, we lost him that day.
That experience changed the way I see CPR and cardiovascular health. I learned in the most personal way that cardiac emergencies can happen anywhere, at any moment, and that the person standing nearby may be the first ,and most important link in the chain of survival.
Since then, I have carried a promise with me: to help raise awareness about cardiovascular health and encourage more people to learn CPR.
I’m joining the Heart Walk in memory of my brother, and for every family who may one day depend on someone nearby knowing what to do when every second matters. â¤ï¸
