Some heroes wear capes. Some just put on comfortable shoes and start walking.
This is my second year participating in the Alaska Heart Walk, and I'm walking in honor of people whose lives have been impacted by stroke.
My mother-in-law suffered a stroke in 2023. In 2025, my friend Jose's mother also experienced a stroke, and we lost her in 2026 due to related complications.
These experiences are reminders that life can change in an instant. They are also reminders that research, education, and community support matter.
I believe small actions can lead to extraordinary things. One dollar. One step. One walker. One act of kindness.
The Heart Walk is about more than miles. It's about hope. It's about funding research, supporting families, and creating more birthdays, more family dinners, more laughter, and more chances to make memories.
Thank you for helping me support the American Heart Association's mission to create healthier lives and more moments with the people we love.
Because every heartbeat deserves a little more time, a little more hope, and a lot more love.
