In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Heart disease is the leading killer of women in the United States, and yet it feels like we don't hear about it that often. 1 in 5 lives will be lost to this silent killer. We need to talk about it, encourage greater awareness, and help save lives! Women's symptoms may be easily overlooked and even ignored, but you can be your strongest advocate by learning what to watch out for, what blood test numbers to keep an eye on, and asking questions.
I have personal experience with just how silent heart disease is. Despite leading a heart healthy lifestyle, eating the right foods and exercising, I had a heart attack around 1:30 am on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Thanks to the wonderful care I received at the Santa Monica UCLA ER that night and UCLA Hospital next day, I survived. I'm one of the lucky few who had no permanent damage. Now I'm going to thrive, am nearly back to my fully energetic self through the amazing UCLA Westwood Cardiac Rehab team, an all new care team of UCLA physicians, and my nutritionist. Knowing you have an issue is the first step, and now I know that I have someting called Coronary Artery Spasms. And I'm going to do everything possible to never have one again!
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help spread the word! Help me reach my goal today!
