I walk for my little baby niece. She was born with patent ductus arteriosus and had two surgeries to close the hole in her heart by 14 months. To open up the blood flow in the artery impacted by that titanium plug, she had another two surgeries to put the right tiny-size stent in by 26 months. She is doing great, is healthy, and will likely need another two surgeries by the time she's 18.
I walk for father-in-law, whom I've gotten to know and love over the last 14 years. He has had four stents put in, and as the doctor said, his heart is stronger than ever!
I walk for our uncles whom we wish were more in our lives, and I walk for everyone affected.
Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
I Walk to Save Lives. And for STEPtember!
