Walk With Us. Walk for Hearts. Walk for Stroke Survivors.
Stroke has touched my life both personally and professionally. Sadly, it runs in my family, and most recently, I lost my grandmother to a stroke. Her story is one of the many reminders that strokes are far more common—and far more personal—than most people realize.
I’ve spent my entire career as a nurse in the intensive care unit and now have the honor of managing a neuroscience hospital that serves the largest stroke volumes in San Diego County. Every day, I witness the devastating impact a stroke can have on patients and families—but I also see resilience, hope, and recovery.
That’s why I’m proud to walk, raise awareness, and fundraise with the American Heart Association. The future of stroke care is bright. Breakthrough technologies, innovative treatments, and cuttingedge research are transforming lives—and these advances are only possible because of continued support and funding.
This walk is about honoring those we’ve lost, supporting those still healing, and building a stronger future for our patients.
I’d love for you to be part of this journey. Please consider not only donating, but joining our Sharp Grossmont "'BE FAST'er than Cardiac" team (we're secretly competing with our cardiac team :D). Every step we take moves us closer to better outcomes, meaningful recovery, and healthier hearts.
Let’s walk together—for awareness, for hope, and for the ones who matter most.
