My husband, Brian, was diagnosed in the last three years (August 26 is our 3 year anniversary of the diagnosis) with a rare autoimmune disorder that causes him to have strokes as a result of increased stress levels.  This journey has been anything but easy, with two strokes in three years, 13 seizures, and numerous side effects.  This year we faced six weeks of chemo as a way to aggressively fight the disease to prevent future strokes and get Brian back in remission.  It is through research, science, and, quite honestly, a miracle, that Brian and our family can say we are surviving this disease one day at a time!  Some days are better than others, and we have learned to take it, at times, just 1 minute at a time.  But we are only able to do this because of the incredible research and scientific advancements that happen every day.
