In my family we have seen cardiovascular disease and the harsh effects it can cause. This year, we are honoring our Heart Survivor - Titus Wilburn. His story is truly remarkable and a testimony of the goodness of God. We are walking to honor him and several other Survivors in our family; Lowana, Norman and more.
I personally am walking because cardiovascular medicine is my passion. I want to use my passion to inspire, encourage and empower people to lead heart healthy lives. I am working toward my nursing career and plan to specialize in the Cardiac ICU here at OHSU. I want to meet these patient wherever they are at, raise them up and help implement changes to improve health outcomes. I want to educate anyone with an ear to hear all the things I have to say about the heart and how vital it is to the quality of life we will live.
For all those who are Survivor and those how did not survive. Banding together and raising awareness is the least I can do to show my support and I couldn't be happier to do so.
Please, please join my team!! Walk for your neighbor, walk for your family members or walk just because you are able to! I promise by the end of the day, you will feel so glad you did!
Anyone that signs up will get a shirt for walking and/or for donating! I hope to see more walkers under my team soon! Just know with each step and with each dollar we are saving lives! ❤❤❤
