Following a thorough review of our work in the North Central Coast, and with the uncertainty and difficulty in special event fundraising due to the precautions we must take to not spread COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to sunset our Heart & Stroke Walk in Monterey.

We are grateful for your participation and your generous support of the American Heart Association through the Central Coast Heart & Stroke Walk. Although we will not have fundraising events in Monterey, we want to assure you that the American Heart Association’s health impact work in the North Central Coast will continue. We will continue to share our consumer health messaging in the community through social media and public service announcements. Our hospital quality work, CPR education and training, our advocacy for policies that promote health, and our work in local schools will also continue.

Right now, the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives is more important than ever. Your support is helping us invest directly in scientific research into the heart and brain implications of COVID-19, assist health care workers on the front lines caring for patients, and provide the public with essential information about the virus.

Over the past several years, the Central Coast Heart & Stroke Walk has raised awareness and life-saving funds, and we are so grateful for your support and volunteer efforts. We sincerely hope that you wish to remain involved with American Heart Association.
