2026 Bay Area CA Heart Walk
GSP&PS Heartbeat Brigade
Hello,
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to help save lives from heart disease and stroke, which remain among the leading causes of death in the United States. On a personal note, as many of you may remember, my father and grandfather both experienced debilitating strokes while just in their mid-sixties, preventing them from enjoying a long and carefree retirement.
Event details: The 2026 PG&E Heart Walk will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. Virtual options are also available, so employees outside the Bay Area can participate from their region or walk on their own. Once again this year, Christine Cowsert and Deb Sinta will be hosting the in-person walk event!
As the first step in this effort, we would like to extend a personal invitation to each of you to join our walking team and help us raise money for this worthy cause. As you go through the options, you’ll see a question asking, “How will you participate?” Please select “Walk Where You Are,” and then join us at PG&E’s company-sponsored event in San Ramon on October 1. If you cannot attend the San Ramon event, I can help you organize a virtual group walk with coworkers and friends in your area, or you can simply walk on your own. Whether you join in person or virtually, your steps matter.
If you are unable to join the walking team, our growing list of volunteer walkers would greatly appreciate your financial support. Please check back regularly to see the team roster grow and support your coworkers where you can.
This event is more than just a walk. It is a celebration of health, community and purpose — and an opportunity for us to come together as coworkers, raise awareness and support life-saving research. With your help, we can build on the momentum from last year and aim even higher by growing our team of GSP&PS walkers and raising at least $3,000. When you join the Heart Walk, you are joining more than one million people in 300-plus cities across the country who are walking to save lives. Let’s show the power of PG&E’s heart and make this a great year for our team.
Thank you,
Allen DeBrum - 2026 Heart Walk Coach
