This year's Heart and Stroke Walk is particularly special to me because my mom is a recent heart disease and stroke survivor. This May she underwent open heart surgery and had a stroke shortly after. One of her favorite activities is walking her dog Archie and she is now able to that again because of her life-saving surgery. She has always been a supporter of the American Heart Association Heart and Stroke walk and she is now a survivor.
